Skyrim Memories

Post » Mon Aug 08, 2011 3:13 am

I remember when I first picked up Oblivion in 5th grade, I had the time of my life playing it, and even got a lot of my family into it. But I had some in-game memories too. Anyone else who had Oblivion or Morrowind plan on re-creating any memories or can you think of anything you'll do in Skyrim? (Not general stuff like "Kill a bosmer, but like "Go here, and do this obscure thing etc.")

Don't you think a topic titled as such is a little premature?

The first thing I want to do in Skyrim is climb all the peeks and watch the sunset. I always tried to do this in Oblivion, but failed.

Not if you already have ideas as to what you're going to do

You're asking this to someone who was in 5th grade when Oblivion was out.

Maybe throw a sword into the ocean water, and try to recover it. Also, jump off the Throat of the World! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :ahhh:

Yes. I'll just walk the open roads and listen to the night wind wandering through the trees. I'll take out my pipe and stop for a few thoughts, and see a small campfire on a far away peak. Then a deep, deep sigh...

I don't get your meaning, it was a viable question...

Anyway, I don't really have anything special I did, since the entire game (Morrowind) was special to me...I was in middle school at the time so the game really had a big impact on me. I was in amazement when I found out I was in this huge world and could go anywhere I wanted to. I first set out on the trails and used the road markers to try and find my way in the dark to Balmora...was no easy task for a complete noob like myself. That in and of itself was a very memorable experience.

I climbed to the top of every mountain in Oblivion because I wanted to reach the top and leave behind a memento. I never did figure out which mountain was higher in Oblivion. I will climb to every peak in Skyrim - its tradition.

The other thing I would do is make a campfire in a snowy place. I did that in Oblivion with Welkynd Stones because torches werent lit when you dropped them in Oblivion and fire magic made everything explode off in different directions... you could make a campfire out of a NPC using paralyse and fire damage combined (it costs a lot of mana) but you can have a fire to warm you that stays lit for a couple of minutes at least... the NPC needs to be living to begin with.

If paintbrushes still work like they did in Oblivion I will use them to pave a tenuous road to Heaven. It took a lot of save and reloads in Oblivion to get there (I never survived the fall anyway) but it was worth it for the God-view. When I made it Id rain down fireballs on the world below....

Being in awe and fear of the first odd creature I find in my way, and doing all my efforts on finding a way to avoid it (Morrowind, first Bull Netch encounter).

Why would you think that? Remember what it looks like?

My most valuable memory in Skyrim will be the day I pop it in my Optical drive.

I'll probably do what I did for Morrowind and Oblivion... write short stories about them. I quite enjoy writing TES fanfiction. :)

5th grade when OB came out huh? Crazy, I think I played MW when I was a junior or sophomore in highschool, and fell in love with the series immediately.

When i first played Skyrim, i remember it was a sunny day all the way to the store, I got there and asked for my collectors edition pre order, the guy gave me a huge package.
I got home and booted it on my 360, suddenly the sky turned black, it started to rain and lighting and a voice asked me "are you ready to go in a once in a life time journey?" I replied "yes i am oh creepy one".
And thats my memories of when i played skyrim, everything after that in blck in my mind
