Brink's Gameplay = amazingly g00d

Brink's Layout for ps3 and xbox = BADDDDDD

BUT. PC actually has a server browser... we dont... they MUST have had a reason why they did this ( i mean... they actually CHANGED the game...). ALL i wanna know, is WHYYYYY, if they would just address this...at least be like "We did it cuz... [insert fabricated excuse here] " We could finally end all this

Maybe because the PC's capabilities allow them to do this. PC's have the potential to be the best machines when it comes to gaming...they can also be expensive due to the constant updating of hardware and software. Most games for the consoles (PS3,XBox) have to be basically the same game...even if one of the consoles is technically able to put out a better version of the same game. IMO, this games potential would shine thru if it was an exclusive title to either console. I'm also not a fan of game porting. Hopefully, the updates/patches will bring out some of the dormant qualities in this game. *fingers crossed*

hate to say it, but its just how it is, usualy. console versions would def benefit from a server browser and dedicated servers

many ps3 and xbox games have server browsers... its actually perty common... and it adds so much quality to the game. I think they are better than server lobbies too... imo

I'm not a fan of server browsers but having dedicated servers if necessary for any modern title now, while I don't tend to experience that much lag in online play dedicated servers are the main thing that I want in an update just so everybody is on a level playing field.

All you have to do is look at the connection quality from Gears or War 2 to the Gears of War 3 beta and the difference is seen immediately.

They didn't change it for the PC to have server browsers. They changed it so that the consoles did not. What I'm trying to say is that the game was first developed for PC and then ported to console so you're logic was kinda backwards.

There are some console games with server browsers, but most games will use the "host" setup where one console acts as the server. This is usually done because it's cheaper then having dedicated servers and there can sometimes be complications when trying to get a dedicated server to work through xboxlive and PSN. With PC the communication likely goes. Players PC -> Dedicated server -> Another Players PC. With the consoles it would be: Players Console -> XboxLive/PSN -> Dedicated server ->XboxLive/PSN -> Other players console. Those extra few degrees of seperation might not have a huge impact, but then again they could have a huge impact.

That being said my statements here should not be viewed as exactly how the system works. They are an educated guess based on my long experience with online gaming and my background as a computer engineer.

Maybe because the PC's capabilities allow them to do this. A console has the capability to do this as well. A server browser and dedicated servers are not out of the consoles limited range. They could have easily and should have implemented both of these for console. The reason they didnt is because they were a) too lazy or b ) they wanted to cut corners and save money. Shame really because the gameplay when its actually playable is fun PC's have the potential to be the best machines when it comes to gaming...they can also be expensive due to the constant updating of hardware and software. Also wrong really. you dont need to spend much on a pc to make it play games. This view that you need to spend thousands is totally wrongMost games for the consoles (PS3,XBox) have to be basically the same game...even if one of the consoles is technically able to put out a better version of the same game. IMO, this games potential would shine thru if it was an exclusive title to either console. I'm also not a fan of game porting. Hopefully, the updates/patches will bring out some of the dormant qualities in this game. *fingers crossed*Again its got nothing to do with not being an exclusive the devs just didnt put dedicated servers in with a server browser or at least a competent quick join function

No offense but... the game was intended to be on PC, PS3 and 360 in the first place. If anything PS3 was a last minute decision. Seriously though, who cares... just make the game what it is for all systems.

My logic wasnt backwards at all, all im saying is, we are minus the server browser, and you can look at ANY post in this forum ( cuz they are ALL about it ), We need a server browser. But you reply with "this this this, but maybe im wrong, and im just guessing"
BUT, it shouldnt matter, all i said was, i want to know WHYYY they did not do it. Your just saying "maybe this, maybe not" I dont need that. I want a statement saying "this was taken out BECAUSE" and provide me with an acceptable reason. PSN CAN have dedicated servers. Iv seen it. Iv played in them. Iv enjoyed them. BUT its not only dedicated servers im talking about. im talking about a SERVER BROWSER. Just SOME function to lay out the community, or to let us group with our friends with ease. When i have to put EFFORT into just getting my friends in the same room... its not even worth playing.

Why not? it literally LAYS the community out and shows you whos on. So much better than randomly joining rooms, because that causes imbalance. I have YET to play a game in brink where the same people stay a full game. everyone ALWAYS rage quits... if i had a browser, id join people more around my skill level. To better challenge myself and create full games.... also allows clan tryout rooms, to make new friends, maybe post that your looking for a scrim? maybe you wanna play games like zombie/president/ or hide and seek.... it just REALLY opens the community up and makes a game more enjoyable.... Random rooms are just weak.
