Gamespy Hands On Review

Hostile giants show up as red dots on his compass?

Yeah reading that part made me very disappointed..... I'm hoping it was a perk, or a spell....

Awesome preview, thanks rooni. Man Skyrim sounds better and better. It's funny how the previewer did the same thing I would. In all of BGS's games, I say i'm going to do one thing and I end up getting completely sidetracked. It's beautiful.

I like how they also said the rivers are some of the most beautiful in gaming. The NPC commenting on the equipped spell is awesome too. The world seems very dynamic.

I proceed northward past Chillfurrow Farm and to Battle-Born Farm, where I investigate the fields to see what kinds of crops are grown at a place called Battle-Born Farm. The answer isn't terribly exciting, but I'll tell you anyway: leeks and gords

LEEKS and GORDS confirmed.

"The mead restores 20 points of stamina, but slows your stamina regeneration by 25% for 20 seconds thereafter -- basically, a shot of energy with a very brief hangover."

Skyrim just seems to get better and better the more I read...

I know what you mean. These hands on previews are really building my excitement for Skyrim, loads of new stuff's being revealed. The 40 min demo was fantastic but i've pretty much heard about all of that sequence since january. If only one of these journos had a spy camera.... :whistling:

-NPC'S commenting on a spell playable characters have equipped

How can they possibly know what spells you have equipped?

Not really. Not all enemies show up. In the QuakeCon demo, none of the enemies showed up on the compass.

@Sheogorath Maybe he was a Mage?

Compass is a HUD thing so it might not be a spell.

Interesting line I noticed:

No time to duck into Whiterun, since that would probably involve a loading screen.

Pretty chicken [censored] if you ask me. The reviewers aren't even allowed to say if there's city loading screens.

What are you talking about? We had a reviewer already go into Whiterun after bribing a guard and a loading screen. Let me go dig it up.
