You deleted your gamesas.com login and created a new one with a new email address? That would be an entirely new character with no "knowledge" of the other. Although gamesas.com accounts do share information tied to CDKEY (in a fairly muddled way), from what you described your prospects are not good. What do you mean by "deleted my login", exactly?

I guess that means a re-install of the operating system, everything? If you still have the contents of your C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis2\Profiles folder then you can get your assesments and weapons back. If not (for example you reinstalled windows, and dont have a backup) then you will have to re-level all of your gear. Sorry.

Thx guess I'll have to start over as we didn't save the contents, didn't realise it would be a problem!

weird, when I reinstalled crysis 2 before the 1.4 patch I think, I only lost a little bit of assessment and weapon data.

I cant figure it entirely. I do know that if you still have your "operational status" ranking and everything else is all screwed up, you can largely fix it by getting the right singleplayer profile back.

And, it is weird. Demystifying it is definitely rocket science, and I'm not qualified;) Alot of the MP data is kept in the cloud with the gamesas.com account (as it should be) but it interacts with whats in the active local SP profile. For all the tinkering I've done with it, luck-of-the-draw still seems to reign supreme. Further, the bastard just deletes local profiles sometimes according to its own rules. Sigh.

You should only lose single player data (ie. your game saves) if you wipe your PC, everything else is stored online.

If you delete your profile entirely thought and re-create it then you will begin a new at level 1 and have no unlocks, this is all tied in to your username so if you wish to pick up where you left off then you'll need to keep the same account name.

Interesting how my thread was ignored by crytek, but this one wasn't.

I guess I'll have to keep bumping until the end of time, or maybe make 10 threads and keep them all bumped. That should force someone to read it, right?

Tom, that is right, but innacurate;) The operative word in your post is "should". Please, prove it for yourself:

If you are an MP player using multiple profiles in SP, be aware that loadouts, modules, browser preferences, and a mishmashed bunch of other multiplayer data is apparently stored with the active single player profile.

For example:
* Develop a level 50 MP character with the SP profile named "DEFAULT"
* Play around with different profiles in SP, last using one you called "MYNEWPROFILE"
* Go to MP -- login your level 50 -- all your loadouts etc are gone!
* Go to SP, reselect the DEFAULT profile, go to MP, they're back!
* GO to SP, select MYNEWPROFILE, they're gone! etc.

Conversely:
* Develop a level 50 MP character with the SP profile named "DEFAULT"
* In game, go to MYCRISIS->SWITCH PROFILE and create a new level 1 character.
* All is cool, new guy, fresh stats, etc, until you hit level 5 and custom loadouts become available.
* You inherit the loadouts, weapons, modules from your level 50!
* You get to use weapons and module levels not normally available to your rank.... but the assesments, etc get wonky and hard to predict.
* When you go back to your Level 50 character, he will have some of your new characters unlocks, etc even though he cant use them. Other things will be slightly and permanently wrong, as well.
Tom, the game does work from cloud data somewhat like you say. Still, the interaction between the Multiplayer game experience and the currently active singleplayer profile causes MANY of the glitches people describe on these forums, and the fixes posted based on this interaction have worked. Thank you for posting, please advise.

You need the three .xml files called "actionmaps", "attributes", and "profile". These will be in one or more subfolders off of the C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis2\Profiles folder. (Each subfolder corresponds to a singleplayer profile name.)

0. BACKUP your Saved Games\Crysis2 folder (simply make a copy on your desktop or somesuch)
1. copy the three files to C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\Crysis2\Profiles\default, overwriting what is there.
2. Start the game, SKIP the logon. From the singleplayer PROFILES menu select the profile named DEFAULT.
3. Login to multiplayer as usual.

There is another simpler trick which sometimes works:
1. rename your ...\Saved Games\Crysis2 folder to something else, in effect forcing the game to re-initialize as if after a fresh install
2. start the game, LOG IN at the first screen. All your game settings are as if you just installed the game
3. Enter multiplayer. If it worked, your loadouts etc, will be reset but you will still have your stuff unlocked to rebuild 'em with. Sometimes the assesments will work, sometimes not. Worth a try if you dont have your original SP profile files.
