SO I just bought Fallout 3+New Vegas with all the DLC's on Steam's big sale thing. I go to launch the game and the launcher shows up I press play and the color around my avatar turns green as though I'm playing the game then it turns blue and says I'm not playing it. I did some looking around and found that If I go in to the files I could bypass the launcher and play from there. I click on the application button and this system error shows up "The program can't start because xlive.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Well I'm running this on Wind 7 on my dads comp because mine is a Vista and I've heard about how buggy it is on there. But on my dads comp I can only be in guest mode so the DirectX9 thing or what ever the hell it is I cant download because I need my dads password. Basically I'm asking three things, One: if I go and run this on my Vista will it work with a few bugs here and there (which I have no problem with) or Two: If I do that stupid DirectX9 thing on my dads comp will it work just fine or 3: Is there something else about this that wont work and I'll need additional help. I ran the game on Vista fine for nearly a year, but on Vista or Windows 7 its best to install the game outside of the program files. Someplace like C:\Games\Fallout 3
