Zombie Fallout?

Post » Tue Aug 09, 2011 6:24 am

I was bored so I went to a website called armor games, and there was a game called last stand union city. A zombie game where you try to find your wife/husband. I played the 2 before where you just sit behind a barricade and kill zombies until you meet a time limit so I thought it was similar to that. But I started to play this and it was a side scrolling game, so I thought cool this will be interesting, but when I got further into the game it started to seem more like Fallout, especially with skills and almost SPECIAL, the game is SPEIL, and there are less skills than Fallout. With minimal character custimization you also choose an occupation in the beginning to help your skills. You also find ammo, food and health to heal, clothing, weapons, and a lot of junk items.

I realize other games are like this but Fallout definately came to mind when I played it.

Check for yourself: http://armorgames.com/play/12009/the-last-stand-union-city

Not really fallout, but it reminded me of the games. Set up very similar to them with a zombie twist.

I just tried it, pretty fun and very similar... I like using the Tire Iron, conserves ammo.

The heavy crowbar served better for me, much more damage.

Heh... looked through a wardrobe, and there were bottlecaps with the description "wonder if these will be currency". The lockpicking is also similar.

I played that game once.

I am a Zombie fan.

A game based around World War Z and the Zombie Survival Guide would be awesome.

I agree. I think the show http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead or comic whichever you prefer is similar to the zombie survival guide. Well at least the way the zombies come too, I'm not sure if the comic explained it but the show sort of did. I have yet to read WW Z but I'm trying to find it in a library.

There is some new zombie game http://www.deadislandgame.com/ that looks promising, but I would like something like the zombie survival guide, maybe even a sandbox game where you just survive and do little missions for people. It would be interesting.

The comic left the zombies' origins in the dark but the show had a great explanation IMO (I like both).

I did that quest for that guy (you know, the one where you get him a razor cutter or whatever it was) and I have to ask (those who got further than me) does the game develope a plot or is it just random quests from random NPCs?

It is a great book I hope you find it. Can get it a Chapters for like $20 or something. They are working on a Movie of World War Z. Brad Pitt Productions.

I also hope the Walking Dead comes back for a second season but I have a feeling it will not.

Plague of the Dead and Thunder and Ashes by Z.A Rechet are also great.
(Subtitle: Morningstar Strain)

A mix of Fast and Slow Zombies. Sad News is that Z.A Rechet passed away before finishing the Third Book in the Morningstar series. A ghost writer I believe is working on it using his notes.

Day by Day Armageddon
is a good book but the second book Beyond Exile is just bad.

I don't know where you are but I beat it. So if you care to find out. Myabe when you have to find the guy his rifle, he is a good partner if you know who I am talking about. Anyways it took a good 3-4 hours to beat it rather thouroughly.

Spoiler

There is always a plot you look for your wife. Then later after some circumstances you are trying to escape the place

I've read the first few chapters or so, it was in one big collection. They just left the farm, around there.

They are indeed making a second season, the first only had 6 episodes now they will have 13.

I'll have to look into those books, but I'll definately check out WWZ once I'm done with LOTR return of the king.

EDIT: darn double post...

EDIT II: Here is a trailer for the walking dead season 2

It seems that they are near that farm. Hope there is more zombie action than 2 minutes like last season.

The Walking Dead is more focused on the survivors, though.

Yeah I know, but 2 minutes from 6 hours. So will there be 4 minutes from 13 hours? I would like some more action than a few minutes, while focusing on the survivors.

I really liked the Walking Dead's season one (I am still pissed off about them waiting to start season two in OCtober, that shoukd've been season two's finally) even if it didn't have much action it had good character developement and a lot of interesting subplots (a few have wrapped up but more can (and probably will) come in the next season).

Oh and to those who don't know season two is comfirmed and it will be 13 episodes instead of six.
