This is getting ridiculous.

So I bought NV off steam the other day in a sale, I've played it on xbox 360 before but wanted to play on PC now.

I've played 9 and half hours and the game has crashed 15 times so far, most of the time when entering or exiting an area but some times just randomly in the open.

Even with the very little mods I have uninstalled it still happens, I play on medium settings.

ATI 4650 1gb.

3.3MB RAM.

Windows XP, S2.

Core 2 duo E6550 @2.33ghz.

What can I do to fix this or is this just New Vegas being New Vegas?

Edit* Sometimes it crashes to desktop, other times it just freezes and when it freezes most of the time I cant ctrl+alt+del out or drop to windows or anything, I have to hard reset my computer.

What mods are you using? I've had freezes with ENB shaders, ctd with companions, ctd and unloadable saves with .ini fixes, crashes with mods that add exterior locations, etc.

Are you willing to play for a while with no mods at all? And then enable them one by one to find the culprit(s)? That is the usual workaround that everyone has to endure.

If you are using Increased Wasteland Spawns then you can place your bet right there.
