A few questions about Steam and TES games

Post » Wed Aug 10, 2011 3:06 am

Hey guys I got a few questions about steam.

I dont have any account and the only PC games I own are...

Arena
Daggerfall
Morrowind GOTY Edition
Oblivion CE and 5th Anniversay.

Can I play all four of those games through steam as well? SinceI own the discs, well on Morrowind and Oblivon, Arena and Daggerfall are from bethesda site.

Also, when people say you cant cheat in game, what happens if you open up the command edit in morowind and add an item to your inventory, what happens then since that is kind of like cheating?

Arena and Daggerfall require Dosbox or a similar dos emulator to run, so I'm not sure you'd be able to run them through steam. As for morrowind and Oblivion, you should be able to start them through steam as you would any other non-steam game that you own.

And I have no idea what those "people" mean when they say you can't "cheat." Nothing's going to happen to you or your character though if you play around in the console or enable cheats in Daggerfall.

You can use the steam overlay with morrowind/oblivion, but you can't attach it to your steam account. You can use console commands with steam, but it will disable achievements until you restart the game.
