Your Skyrim Home

I live nowhere and everywhere.

The world of nature is my home. An option for that would be nice.

I was always homeless in TES games. I love to travel for days and then sleep in a crowded tavern. When I read that the taverns will have a major role in the game I was so happy I learned how to play the Skyrim theme on piano. :celebration:

Well I differently would want a home in a Nordic Capital - living in Mournhold was great in Morrowind. But I'd like a castle on a private island as well - I need a retreat far away form praying eyes for all my magical/necromancy experiments, a vampire clan in the basemant and a place for my war buddies to crash and lick their wounds in piece :D

It would be nice if we could buy any house that exists in game. Though a limit on how many is completely necessary. This would mean we see that nice house in town we can buy that or that country cabin like jensarics. It let's us choose the house and location we want without the complex building or house systems. Of course a good house will be pricier than a shanty. And if we don't like it we look for somewhere else.

While houses are nice, they were pretty useless in all the TES games so far. I spent about 5% of my time in a house that I own, they were mostly used for storage of items and that's it. Why? I spent the other 95% of my time exploring other areas and none of them were close to any house I had.

I don't know what would make houses more useful other than a storage place, but so far that's all they've been.

My first playthrough I plan to be a ranger, so I want to live either in the mountains or the remote wilderness. Todd said they've been trying to get in the ability to kill people and sleep in their beds, so there should open up the options even if there are no ownable houses in spots like these. :celebration:

I liked the Battlehorn Castle in Oblivion. I used it as a "headquarters" or "barracks" for all the NPCs that i recruited with a mod. Wouldn't mind doing that in Skyrim, kind of like owning my own mercenary company. Makes me wonder if you can give Horses to NPCs for them to ride now.

Definitely a small hunting lodge in the autumn forest, right on the river.

I want a house that you have to swim to get into. But the swim will kill anyone who cant breathe underwater.

I want to live anywhere where item placement isn't a total drag. Somewhere that I can adequately display my hard earned loot without causing a pinball machine disaster if I so much as think about sneezing.

What about having multiple homes? I mean its hard to have your resources split between different places. But if you're a thief it makes sense that you'd have safe houses. And if you are a warrior it makes sense that you'd need rest stops between excursions into the countryside slaying dragons and what not. Mages are the only ones I can think have legitimate reasons to want to be holed up in one place specifically.

Somewhere remote. A log cabin in the woods, a small house on the side of a mountain. A place to meditate and reflect on past events.

Agreed. An outpost looking over the world with catapults, binoculars of some sort and some sort of lore friendly fast travel nearby would be great.

The problem with a looking glass is that you will be focusing on far away, and when you stop you'll realise there is a dragon making a sharp dive for you from right above. I doubt our homes or strongholds will be safe. I mean if any building is to be destroyed in the game why not the player's own home?
