When I reviewed one of my own videos I observed something a bit out of the ordinary. It was when Dovakiin fought a bunch of Draugrs that I witnessed it - he hit one of the Draugrs with the hilt of his sword. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD61StYW5oc, if you don't want to see the whole movie, fast forward to 4:11 and you'll see it.

I noticed that the attack didn't do a lot of damage, but I speculate that hitting with the hilt may stagger opponents, or at least give some sort of advantage in battle. It could also earn you achievements (trophies)... who knows? What do you think?

I think it's a weapon bash and it seems that's the 'parry' for when not using a shield or two-hander.

Todd said before a shield bash timed to hit just as an enemy attacks will stagger them and leave them open. I'm assuming if we can bash with weapons as well, then it would do the same thing.

I would assume a perk in the bashing area. But obviously with no shield. Nice to see more variation in combat.

I also think I saw that skeleton hero with the big axe let go of his axe with 1 hand and back hand todd when he went too close.

Pretty sure that was a parry/block on the Draugrs part.

Might be a power attack. A hilt bash to stun the enemy?
