Boone has butterfingers!

First and fore most, I apologize if this in the wrong section. So far in my recent playthrough I'm on I'm using Boone and e d e. Rather cookie cutter companions but they work hand in hand IMO.

My complaint is exactly what the topic says... So far I've been NICE enough to give Boone about 400 .308 rounds, the gobi, and a reg. Sniper rifle. He's been reluctant enough to through them on the ground somewhere... Hell who knows where they are... I'll never find them.

The reg sniper rifle is not much to worry about, just 5k+ in caps thrown on the ground. The gobi I'm rather pissed about. If I knew he was gonna throw it away I'd rather use it or put it in novac for nostalgic purposes.

Ive checked his inv. And anything else I can think of... I'm assuming this has happened to others. Anyone care to share?

Maybe the enemies broke them while they were shooting him I've never had this problem because I use Veronica more but it's possible they had gotten broken in the fighting.

As far as the gobi or the reg. Sniper breaking they were both 100% when he was given them... And maybe encountered 5 enemies before I noticed he was shooting his hunting rifle. The gobi is probably the best weapon for Boone to use and now I don't have it because of him....

Also is there any point on quoting what I said if your the first person to post? Seems pointless other than us scrolling more...

A weapon doesn't need to break for it to fly out of your hands, another possibility is there's a bug when entering a casino and trying to keep your hold out weapons. The non-holdouts held by companions won't be returned.

Sorry dude it's a habit :/ but if they were in 100 percent then maybe his arm got crippled and he threw it and used the next weapon.

Ive never had this happen, or maybe i have and just havnt noticed but for 1 i never let companions carry unique weapons and equipment becouse there have been times when i have lost companions, told them to go to lucky 38 and they don't show, i check their home location and again nothing. What could of happend to you is that the weapon broke or run out of ammo so he dropped it, just a thought.

Your thoughts have been covered, as stated above previously... There is no light and yes, my mistake for giving Boone his best weapon to use in the reg. Game.

This is the exact reason I never give companions any weapons, I always just let them use their regular guns because I know that sooner or later they're gonna lose them. I can't even tell you how many times it happened to me in Fallout 3.

Live and learn I guess
Don't give companions unique weapons since they don't deserve them, after all I believe Boone left Gobi behind for a reason :whistling:

Companions will drop a weapon if it is broken . The way Boone chews through ammo, it can happen pretty quickly . You have to maintain their weapons as you maintain your own. The weapon can also be shot out of their hands and they will not pick it back up.

Also when you visit casinos or other places with a weapons check, the weapons in your companions inventory may not be returned. It's actually best to remove the weapons from them or just leave the companions outside.

What's really chapping me right now is ED-E ate my lakelurk ! The little fracker . I stored 6 lakelurk meats with him figuring they'd be safe in his inventory. He ate 5 outta 6 of them !
At least now I know why his weight fluctuates.

ED-E must have been hungry, lol.

Maybe it broke. They stop using them if they break. And they disapear perhaps. And maybe Boone just does'nt like sniper rifles, just hunting rifles.
I gave Arcade Ganon the Q35 Unmodulater and he won't use it. Or it broke and disapearred. I am annoyed about that. :( It's not in his inventory.
Or as others said they disapeared when you entered and left a casino.
Now I know not to give Boone the gobi campaign sniper rifle, when I find it.

To confirm this, the companions consuming food that is... I gave lily 80 junk foods to make room for other stuff... When I took them back, she had eaten 2 of them(only had 78 in her inv).
