Not sure if my video card is good enough.

I was looking through the system reqs for this, because I'm hoping to buy it within a few days. All my things qualify, except for that I heard Intel cards aren't supported. I've never even heard of mine until I got this computer a while back, but I know it's not very good. I can run CnC Generals on lowish settings, which I know was released around the time Morrowind was. Here's the card:

Intel® 82915G/GV/915GL Express Chipset Family

My computer is fairly decent, but the graphics card has always pulled my performance down. I looked up other peoples thoughts on the card, and they said it was pretty bad as well. I don't care much, so long as I can still play Morrowind.

Also, I heard something about the expansions being released for free. I wouldn't be very surprised since Morrowind is pretty old, and I kind of hope they did, because when I go to town next week, the only store that has it only has the normal edition. I was hoping for the GOTY, but I'd have to wait for it to ship and pay extra. I don't mind if that's the case, but I'm dying to play this game, since everyone is saying that it is as good as or better than Oblivion.

On a side note, there is no chance that this computer would play Oblivion, is there? I like the console version but mods would greatly enhance it.

While that Intel chipset should run Morrowind, Intel graphics chipsets are known to experience graphical errors such as clipping and blinking textures. I don't believe the Morrowind expansions are available for free.

You definitely cannot run Oblivion with that setup.

Ah, thank you. I did some searching, and I found that they are most definately not free, like I had expected. Someone on amazon had said that they could now be downloaded free, and I was just confirming that he was wrong.

It's good to see that it will atleast run. I didn't expect to be able to run Oblivion, either. Next year, I intend to build a new computer, up to date enough to run Skyrim and BF3. For now, I'll probably get those games on console. But it's good to know that I can run Morrowind, I prefer to run a game on it's superior console, and I've heard the XBOX version of Morrowind has a lot of problems, specifically on the 360.

Thank you again, I will order this as soon as possible. :tops:
