Elder Scroll inventory vs Fallout inventory

In ES4, checking your inventory was very friendly. It had different slots for everything. Armor, Weapons, etc.

Even in fallout when you take out the pip boy, it seperates your items accordingly, then
WHY THE HELL IT JUST BECOMES ONE BLOODY VERTICAL LINE OF ITEMS when you are dealing with merchants.

You know that you can enter the separate categories in the barter menu, right? You don't have to use Items only, you can easily switch to Weapons, Apparel, Aid, and Misc.

You can switch between aid, ammo, etc. with vendors. There are arrows on the top that you click.

The way inventory is handled is exactly the same in both.

Glad you said that... I was sitting here trying to figure out which difference I might have missed!

What bugs me is the "You cannot remove quest items from your inventory"!
Why?!

Just in case you drop/put away a quest item and can never find it again thus never completing the quest. Now I don't see why we can't drop finished quest items, motor runner's helmet is pissing me off just being there <_<
