I'm not the most computer savvy person, so bear with me

I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop and (as far as I know) meet at least the minimum specs. I've installed and ran Oblivion (at about 20fps with mods), Age of Empires 2 and 3, and other various games so I'm fairly sure it should be able to handle Morrowind. I have also installed the same exact disk to another computer in the past without complications.

The problem arises when I launch the .exe and try to install it. A box will appear that says "Do you want to install Morrowind?" I click "yes" and then nothing happens for a couple of minutes, and then everything but the mouse will be frozen. Starting Task Manager from the Start bar or using Ctrl+Alt+Delete results in a lockup as well. I have tried 3 consecutive times with the same result.

How can I fix this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
