Why Elsweyr is the most logical choice for TES:VI location

Post » Fri Aug 12, 2011 7:07 am

Why? well its simply a matter of desert being the most underused environment in all TES.

Lets start with summerset isle and Valenwood.. summerset isle I imagine would look a lot like mania in shivering isles. ie colourful fauna and an alice in wonderland vibe. Valenwood would simply be another great forest/colovian highlands we see in Cyrodil.

Blackmarsh would be a lot like Dementia. Infact I roleplay Dementia as the blackmarsh in my games. (and travel south of leyawiin before I fast travel to the doorway) So we dont need to see another bleak and dreary swampland. There was also plenty of swamp in Morrowind along the bitter coast region.

Which leaves high rock, hammerfell and elsweyr. High rock I think would be too similar to Skyrim, even the name suggests mountains, so I think Beth will want to avoid that. So Hammerfell or Elsweyr, well we've seen Hammerfell in Daggerfall, and If Beth had the choice of reusing a past-game province to using and building a completely new one, I think they would choose the latter. (elsweyr)

A TES game set in mostly desert and some tropical jungle would be a very unique world.. rather than just another green hills, forest and mountains setting.

I Agree with this, Seeing as the Kitty Cats are my favorite race, And Elsweyr Interests me alot, But yeah I'd like TES:VI Elsweyr then TES VII Black Marsh, The More TES the better, Who doesn't love TES? TES! TEEESS!

Elsweyr = Greatest province ever.

But, it needs to have an Acrobatics skill implemented that allows Prince of Persia-style awesomeness. As well as awesome Hand-to-Hand combat. And the ability to either play as or at least interact with fuzzy people the size of freight engines.

Black marsh would literally kill you unless you're an argonian. Elswyr(Perhaps finally see all the khajiit forms?), Valenwood(WALKING TREE CITY), and Summerset(Oh man, the opportunity to slaughter tons of Altmer would make me happy) all seem like neat provinces for VI.

You can roleplay whatever you want when you play Dementia and Leyawiin, I want to see the real Black Marshin a stand alone TES game. The swamp in Morrowind is the swamp in Morrowind, the Marsh is something else, should look differently, be much more dense and dangerous and should have tribes of Argonians that I can't wait to discover. Visiting Black Marsh is equally an adventure and an anthropological curiosity for me, so don't include me in your "we don't need to see", thanks.

I personally think they should make Summerset Isle because Altmer seem to be the least popular race, and I think its mostly because you never get to see what's awesome about them, they rarely even show up and when they do they are rarely cast in a role that's specific to their cultural background.

I'd also really like to see a game that's heavy on Orcs because they are also sort of ignored by the community because there just has never been much of anything that made them look cool.

Elseweyr would be interesting because we'd probaply get to see all the various forms of Kajiit for once, like battlecats and such.

Both Elsweyr and Argonia qualify for a fantastic province for the next game, as I love both beast races and I'm very interested to see their society and life in detail. I just hope Bethesda is willing to go this path and not another 'easier' province that looks like Earth and can be marketed with Viking, Roman or whatever historical influences.

What? Summerset Isle is like Mania? Black Marsh is like Dementia? Valenwood is like Cyrodiil?!

I'm sorry, you couldn't be more wrong than those three comparisons. Either you're not fully aware of what those provinces are like, or you have no imagination and are severely under-crediting those provinces.

I'd quite like to see Valenwood and Elsweyr both done together in one game personally.
