NVM, realised what it was .. I used a game editor to change the TimeScale value , so it seems that I'm stuck with the standard "blink and the day's gone" time setting or a total restart.

Are you on XBox or PC? If you're on PC, open the console and type "Set timescale to 20" and it'll go back to normal.
