Oblivion crashes after intro

Could somebody PLEASE help me to solve this problem?
Ive been installing mods for two days. After last bunch of modifications, Oblivion stopped loading. It just hangs after the intro movie at the loading screen (BEFORE the main menu). I dont really remember what Ive installed correctly, but the ones I remember are:
- Better Cities (complete install, with whole IC, without open cities)
- Duke Patricks Melee combat
- OBGE Liquid Water
- Oblivion Stereo Sound Overhaul
- Quarls Texture Pack 3 Redemized
- Sounds of Cyrodil
- Symphony of Violence
- The Lost Spires
- All Natural
..... I know that I am IDIOT by not testing stability after every major mod install. I SHOULD tested them one by one, but I really want to solve this WITHOUT reinstalling the whole Oblivion.

EDIT: Just a question... is there a log file which shows what is when loaded in Oblivion ?

Hi there! probably has to do with Duke Patricks. Is my understanding that even if BOSS arrange it in a certain way, for Dukes you need to follow his own load order rules! Pay close attention to his instructions in the readme inside the archive file and not just in the general instructions in the download page. In your load order, I don't see a plugin Patricks mods usually add...something along the lines of "silence script" that has to load last. probably this mod don't use it. I don't know for sure. Just make sure yourself.

A quick insight.... when I DISABLE the bashed patch, everything works (atleast the menu shows up). With the patch enabled, the problem appears.

I hope somebody will find it useful ...

Your FCOM install doesn't look right. Go to the FCOM thread - it's usually in the first page of this forum. Follow the install instructions *exactly*. Make sure you use BOSS. What color is your bashed patch? If it's red, you have a missing master and your game will crash. You should rebuild it anyway whenever you change your mods before you start playing.

Also, since your game is crashing before the main menu, try deleting your oblivion.ini file (in the My Games\Oblivion\) folder, and let the game regenerate a new one.

Deleting Oblivion.ini didnt helped

FCOM ... Well...I dont argue that it is perfectly right, but the game worked before.

I just answered a similar question in FCOM thread. rebuild patch but do not import actor spells from OOO or FCOM mods. Then try.

Although I still dont understand why it worked before, and didnt worked after, when I didnt changed anything related to "importing actor spells". But I guess it will remain a mystery to me.

I just answered a similar question in FCOM thread. rebuild patch but do not import actor spells from OOO or FCOM mods. Then try.


and I have been tracking people who have had this problem, trying to find a common cause for the problem

has it works for me, so it is not something directly caused by fcom itself, if it is hard to track down once again..

I thought that maybe it was bgBalancingEVOptionalFCOMAdditions.esp but it is not that..

It could be anything...
The most recent patch rebuild was for the All Natural (Import Cells).
Also, I think (although Im not quite sure) I had to upgrade Item Interchange to ver. 0.78 (I was rebuilding there too).
Try these, maybe they are your answer.

I can say for sure it's not II 0.78 - I use it just fine without problems. :) I don't use All Natural, though.

Disable COBL races, it's basically a watered down RBP which you have loading after cobl races anyway.

and I have been tracking people who have had this problem, trying to find a common cause for the problem

has it works for me, so it is not something directly caused by fcom itself, if it is hard to track down once again..

I thought that maybe it was bgBalancingEVOptionalFCOMAdditions.esp but it is not that..


Perhaps it is a wrye bash version but I do not recall exactly if this started happening after an upgrade some time back. I just ran an FCOM last week and had no problems importing these tags to make the game work. SO my bet would be something with Wrye bash as the mods have always been the same. Perhaps the difference between a standalone and a full wrye bash. Wrye bash seems to have been the only changing feature during my different builds over time.

Although I still dont understand why it worked before, and didnt worked after, when I didnt changed anything related to "importing actor spells". But I guess it will remain a mystery to me.


You can try re adding either FCOM or OOO to the import actor spells to see which one it really is that causes the problem as I remember only one did but not which one.
