Genocide

I completely disagree.

Yep.

In all my Oblivion characters, I've only seen Lucien spawn twice. (Once due to a friendly-fire incident in a mass battle, once due to the arena fight vs the slaves.)

So, if everything goes as normally in Skyrim? I expect/hope to kill 0 "innocent" NPCs.

So pretty much half the fun of oblivion and fallout was going around and slaughtering all the nice folks that have only shown you kindness. How long after you have started the game will you start your genocidic rampage and how many people will fall victim to your malice

I see no point in this. Last time I killed a bunch if people was my first play of Morrowind and I didn't feel like accomplished anything. I didn't feel bad or anything, I just felt like I wasted my time. So I never did again in any game after that, elder scrolls or otherwise.

The challenge and fun comes from playing the game as the developers intended. NPC Slaughtering just isn't fun, rewarding or challenging.

I disagree, hearing the hammer/sword clash against their unprotected body feels incredibly great........Argonians

Theres method to my madness. I dont kill without ANY reason.

But I may do so for pretty thin reasons. For instance, my first character with will be an Imperial infiltrator trying not only to crush the rebellion in Skyrim but to systematically assassinate every Nord who voices the slightest sympathy for sessession or disapproval of the Emperor. Simultaneously, he will save and protect all those that appear to be loyal subjects.

Of course, all the kills will be from the shadows, as he cannot let anyone know whats going on until the land has been purged.

Why Argonians? I thought Bosmer...

The senseless NPC killing comes from our innate desires to control. And deciding who lives and dies in a game makes some people feel empowered.
I guess thats why horror games, like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, are such wins because the player has no power.

My Nordic warrior will not needlessly kill innocents but he has a temper and if a civilian pisses him off he'll have no problem teaching them a lesson. I really don't see the point of reckless killing sprees.
