How would I get the ranger hat and clothes from NCR rangers without killing them. Not the patrol armor but the civilian clothes. I dont want to kill them because this is my NCR character. Any ideas? (Console BTW)

Reverse pick-pocket better armor onto them.

Use the console command to Kill him, take his stuff then resurrect him back.

You'll have to reverse pickpocket armor and head gear that has higher DT values than what they wearing onto them, so they'll equip them. Then you can pickpocket them again and take their outfits from their inventories.

Save frequently when trying this - high Sneak (and Stealth Boys) will be your friends.

Other than that, rely on nearby creatures or other hostile NPCs to do your dirty work for you, then loot the corpses. You won't lose reputation or karma.

1. Get liked by NCR
2. Use radio to call for Ranger backup
3. Go someplace deadly.
4. Loot corpse.
5. Rinse and repeat until you have the items you desire.

if you want it that way, you might just save time searching for a Ranger by simply adding the equipment through additem command.


I vote for reverse-pickpocketing some cheap power armor on them.
