It's out because spears were out too

Because they svcked... they always svcked...

And fixing it is not just that easy...

There are cases in fantasy of monks taking down two dragons at once with their bare fists. If you wish to bring any sort of logic around how your knuckles will just break on a dragons scales consider this, so would your sword.

A man waving a sword at a dragon would be like a 5 year old waving a butter-knife at an advlt, sure if the advlt as much as lets the kid hit him straight on he may get a scratch but the 'blade' wouldn't even draw blood.

I would be very disappointed if I was unable to continue my Argonian monk in Skyrim because of any benefits to hand to hand being removed making it a non-viable option.

If they svcked, it was the devs responsibility to improve it.

And fixing it IS that easy. A couple kids working on a mod for a few months have done things that frankly, the staff at Bethesda should be embarrassed by. In fact, they've straight up said they took inspiration from an Oblivion mod because they totally made archery in Oblivion a laughingstock.

And I don't want a game that just confines me to certain typical weapon types like "axe/sword/bow."

Bethesda needs to pull their heads out of their asses, and stop cutting content left and right just so they can streamline their games into something all the COD kiddies will like. They are slowly but surely losing my respect, along with that of many other fans.
