I remember todd saying in a article that it's possible Obsidian might do an ES game sometime in the future, but didn't hear any phrases like "Very likely".

When Todd was asked about it, he sort of put it off and semi-answered it, probably because he didn't wanna say "Hell. No. This is my game."

I doubt it would be much good if Obsidian made it. As for the setting of the next TES game, i hope its in valenwood trying to liberate wood elves from the old aldmeri dominion.

Fallout 3 is inferior compared to Fallout New vegas in many Aspects.And to all Todd said in an interview i dont have a link sorry that they would consider letting a team such as obsidian make a spinoff

Chill out, people. It's not like having Obsidian develop a TES game is gonna keep Bethesda from continuing the main series. Personally I don't mind if Obsidian tackles the franchise. I thought NV decent, and they even improved on the franchise in a few ways. I say give them a chance if they want a shot.

Okay the only reason NV worked at all for Obsidian was that it wasn't that much of a different environment from fallout 3 (after all, almost the whole country is a wasteland) and I'm pretty certain Bethesda had no plans for that area of the US. Tamriel is different. Please for the love of all things holy do not let Obsidian make a game in an area that Bethesda could without a doubt do much better!!

bethesda are only better at making smarter/more stable worlds they are way inferior compared to Obsidians writing and quest designs and characters.

Answer: No where. Obsidian will not and should not make a TES game.

TES has always and will always be kept internally. Fallout on the other hand has had a history of different companies working on it, and the only reason Obsidian got to work on it while Bethesda owns it is because some of Obsidian's people (J.E. Sawyer, Chris Avellone, etc.) had previous experience with Fallout.

It might goes the other way around and they apply for a chance and BGS accept.

I would say that they do not touch Tamriel and start with Akavir.

Well New Vegas was a spin-off of Fallout 3, so, I could see Obsidian maybe doing an ES game, but it would just be a spinoff/companion piece to Skyrim. What it'll probably be is a return to a country we've already seen, with the aftermath of Skyrim's quest line affecting it.

That might be easy for you to say, but devoted fans to the Elder Scrolls franchise don't want other companies (that have no experience with it) getting ahold of it and putting their spin on the already well established TES world, which has a frightening amount of lore that shouldn't be messed with by anyone other than the creators.

if bethesda themselves dont want a place like akavir or whatever, revealed just yet, i doubt they'd let someone else be the first ever to design it.

I don't care, because I won't be buying it if Obsidian is involved. I haven't liked a single game they've done yet.

First off, it's kinda ridiculous to say that FO3 is inferior to FONV "in so many ways", because if not for FO3, New Vegas never would have existed. As a matter of fact, it reused just about every asset of FO3 that it could... the graphics, the quest sytems, the AI, the engine, the character creation, the list goes on... all taken straight from FO3. It's hardly fair to even consider New Vegas its own game.

As for what Todd said about TES and Obsidian... I mean, come on, what't he supposed to say? "No, Obsidian svcks, we don't want the touching TES". He wouldn't say that, because he's not an A$$hole. But the truth is, TES has always been worked on exclusively by Bethesda, and it probably always will be.

It seems very UN-likely. BGS has never shown any inclination to farm out their unique IP. Fallout was not a Bethesda original IP. I really don't understand why you would toss out a phrase like that, other than to try and get a rise out of people.
