Ok I was exploring the area west of prim and I came upon this are called "canyon wreckage" and it has spray painted things that say "you can go home courier" and "the divide" and the "lonesome road."

My guess is that when another add-on comes out this area is gonna be cleared out and the other courier is waiting on the other side to fight you like dead money says.

Yup, it should be for the DLC Lonesome road wich should be the final DLC ( SHOULD be, not saying it will be)

Also think it might be more open then just a linear " hey go fight this guy! You won? good job! back to the Mojave you go!"

I like the non linear DLCs so much better. It adds to the experience.
