I've heard a lot about deadly reflex mod....

Post » Sun Aug 14, 2011 11:34 am

I want the mod. I've heard terrible things about it. Crashing? Incompatibility? Conflicts? Too much of a hassle?
Is this true? Cus the mod itself sounds grreat, but I don't need any criminal scum mods screwing up my already extremely fragile game.

Also: Why does the game not remember my settings? Every time I play I have to reset them and tells me I have to restart the game for effects to take place, but when I restart it forgets what I set the settings to!

It can't all be bad . . . After all, it has over 2359 POSITIVE Endorsemants at the TES Nexus website !!

The best thing to do, is to try it.
If you don't like it, then remove it. Simple.

DR6 is still in beta. There are issues with it, and they have been docuemtned. Some of thos eissues are fixable, if you read the Dr thread.

On the other hand, DR5 is stable and good. It is one of the most highly endorsed mods ever. That is a testament to its popularity.

Why does the game not remember my settings?

Open your console, type saveini and hit Enter. That should force the game to remember your settings.

If I could I would. The console button doesn't work nor does the ring of console mod. Like I said: my copy of oblivion is fragile...very fragile...

Something is seriously wrong if you can't open your console...and the ini doesn't hold.

What OS are you playing on, an what location did you install Oblivion in?

How came you by this particular copy of Oblivion, and what version/type is it anyway?

I know what you're suggesting. It's wrong.

Deadly reflex 5 is pretty sweet and stable. The only bug I've ever seen with it is when you cast a friendly spell sometimes nearby npc's try to dodge it and think you attacked them. DR6 is full of bugs, I'd stay clear of it until further improvements are made.

Things about DR has already been stated although DR6 is still playable.

As for your settings problem it could be that your game is reading the settings from your "default" INI in your Oblivion folder and resting them to that, right click on your "default" INI found in "where ever you installed"\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion", right click it go to properties and set it to read only then when you configer your game after the the settings should stay...if not then it might be this "fragile" copy of Oblivion you have and ya might want to think of picking up a retail version.

Does your game crash every time you exit? If it does then that's why it's not remembering your settings. You'll have to go into the INI and change things in there. I know there was an old INI guide somewhere on the internet for Oblivion. I'll see if I can find it.

actually sounds like you have a mod that turns your console off open up your Oblivion.ini and modify your bAllowConsole from 0 to 1 and it should let you open your console also check out your mods incase someone has a script running specifically to shut down console use

As for DR6 other then some minor tweaks over the camera and compatibility skeletons I love it...mwhahaha love kicking my enemies around
