Assistance with FCOM

Hi there,

I have had FCOM for a while and it works fine, however I have been wondering for time if I have everything installed properly. Here is my current Mod Load order. If someone could tell me, please, if I have the load order correct, so that I can ensure my self that I am accessing all of FCOM's content.

Secondly, I would like to ask about MMM, on one of FCOM's tutorials for the load out I saw that Version 3.6 is needed, however I downloaded 3.5, apparently. I am having some problems activating the Crafting mod for MMM, is this the reason why?


Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Not an expert but I can tell you your load order is all over the place, your bash patch is supposed to be loading last and oblivion.esm is supposed to be the first thing that loads yet in your load order it loading 6th...am surprised your computer ain't exploded let alone allowing the game to start :whistling:

Install and run http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1217309-rel-boss-better-oblivion-sorting-software/ that will sort the load order out for you correctly, as far as it goes for the correct esp/esm being installed you'll need someone with better knowledge on it to advise you.

Next time post in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1215773-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom/ the people over there will fix you up.

Sorry, the list I gave you was from Wrye, apprently it's incorrect. When I go in to the Oblivion Mod Manager the correct load out shows up, not like this one though :facepalm:

BOSS has commented on quite a few of the mods in that list and has told you to remove them. Might want to read through that list and delete everything that says "!!! FCOM INSTALLATION ERROR: Delete. Already integrated into FCOM, MMM, OOO or other FCOM components.". You have quite a few other ones as well. BOSS is your friend, it tells you almost everything you need to know. :)

It seems to me that your first post was set to be alphabetical.
When you have Wrye open, right click on a column header, select "Sort by" and then "Load Order".
Then when you right click again on the header and select "List Mods..." you'll get the correct order copied to the clipboard for immediate pasting into a post.

tricky is correct in that BOSS will tell you a great deal about what your FCOM set up needs or doesn't.
But if you don't spend the time to actually read it, well...

Don't forget to rebuild your patch after making adjustments to you list.

As tricky and aellis has pointed out, your FCOM install is pretty much completely wrong...please refer to the official thread on this forum and follow the guide outlined in the first post. There are many things you shouldn't be using in there.

FCOM is not a "mod convergence" for beginners, so to speak. If you feel that you are still a beginner - and there is nothing "wrong" with that, by the way - then it might be a better course of action to learn more about Oblivion mods before tackling a monstrosity such as this.

Certainly, Wrye Bash (along with BOSS, and the valuable information they both provide) is your friend. Make your way through this -> http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35230 and you will be vastly better equipped to deal with nearly any mod out there. Yes, even FCOM.

The TESCosi site ( http://tescosi.com/wiki/Main_Page ) has a lot of very good information too.

In the end though, you are best served by applying a good dose of common sense, logic and patience. Read methodically through each readme file that accompanies a given mod, and do likewise with the OP of each current relevant mod release (or WiP) thread. Classic examples here would be the FCOM and MMM threads - without reading and fully taking heed of the OPs of both, disaster is never far away, when attempting to install FCOM.

Persist though, and you will find universes of unprecedented freedoms available to you. It is worth a little work!
