Props to Fallout 3

I'm a longtime Elder Scrolls player who recently picked up FO3 for something to do. It's my very first playthrough and I've been avoiding spoilers and walkthroughs like the plague.

Well tonight, I'm just aimlessly wandering the wastes looking for something to do, and I decide to go see what is in the far southwest corner of the map. I stumble upon this Dunwich building and, well, lets just say it's going to be a little bit longer before I can go to bed. Need to give the adrenaline some time to wear off...

That was absolutely terrifying and is easily the scariest thing I've experienced in a long, long time. I already hate feral ghouls, and that place was just chock-full of them....surrounding me as I fall through cracks in the floor and making noises off in the distance before I can see them...and then the creepy pillar at the end. Horrifying....

Anyway, I just wanted to give credit where it is due for creating a truly terrifying place in the game. Great game overall, and I'm highly enjoying it. But if I play through again, that is one place I'll be waiting for daylight hours to enter.

Yep, Dunwich is one of my favorite places out of all the locations..

Another worthy mention goes to Vault 87 which you will reach once you complete much of the story. That place is gruesome, to put it lightly.

I recommend entering Vault 87 and Dunwitch building during nights - both real life and game. Also, as little equipment with you as possible (last time I went to Dunwich all I had was leather armor and a combat knife... And I have mods to make ghouls spawn in dozens...)
