I'm coming back to Fallout 3 after a few months off and find that the game will not start. I've previously played it to conclusion, including all the DLC's and wanted to start over.

When selecting "Play" the video detection window and subsequent settings window appear. Pressing play again repeats the process ad infinitum

Have tried starting from both CD and game file; no change.

Any help cheerfully accepted.

For the sake of convenience, start off by ignoring past performance, and provide full particulars on your system, OS, drivers, etc.

Incidentally, you know the quick fix is forcing the Launcher to regenerate the INI file, right?
