Yeah, the GHF page is kinda outdated. ( I will update it soon, though)
I suggest using the thread here on the Bethesda forum

For a beginner, I wouldn't recommend changing gameplay significantly until you've had at least 20-50 hours of experience with the "vanilla" game. The Morrowind Patch Project (which replaces the Unofficial Patch) and the Morrowind Code Patch (which addresses several issues which weren't fixable by "normal" patches), plus a few graphics replacers, are a good idea.

I use Visual Packs (a venerable old "global" replacer that sticks fairly close to the original "feel") and Better Bodies as a starting point, then add specific replacers to change whatever I feel needs a little bit more TLC. There's a lot of more recent stuff out there, but your own opinion will have to be the ultimate judge.

I would give anything to forget all I know about Morrowind and get a chance to discover the game again.

I'd say get MPP and MCP, better bodies and better clothes, better heads and enjoy!
