So let me get this straight, Tamrielic elves have facial hair, and bosmer can be well built like a human race? Such, madness.

Ignore the skin tone of the second comparison for a second.. and see the facial differences of the races.

The skin color is what we're arguing, silly. Or what I am, at least. I know they have different facial features.
So thank you, this is actually very good proof that they do look similar.

About the first link, they have very different lighting, and the only real difference between them seems to be that the Dunmer has more blue in his skin tone. Aside from the face structure.

Considering Bosmers were mocked by quite a lot of people simply by looking like chubby, annoying elves I think Beth really needed a whole new look, which is obviously much more menancing and all around cool :P

I live in the modern universe where short people are not nearly that bulky. Wood Elves are not adapted to cold environments. Those would be the tall Nords and the short/bulky, yet extinct, Neanderthals. It's true that creatures living in colder areas tend to become shorter and bulkier both to save energy and conserve heat, but neither of these things need to apply to the Wood Elves. We're discussing a video game and it's simply reality that Bethesda are using one mesh for all 10 races. Explaining away inherent limitations posed by a lack of accommodation doesn't change that.

Dude, you need to chill. It's just a video game.

What led you to believe I wasn't calm when I posted that?

I find it strange that in this day and age, people are still so heavily focused on racial stereotypes it puzzles them to see a screenshot of one elf looking a little like a guy from another elf tribe. Face it, people can actually look very much like they belong to a totally different race. This goes as far as white couples having black children, so I really don't believe a Bosmer with somewhat Dunmerish skin is reason enough to doubt the existence of the universe.

It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the established appearance of the Bosmer and the claims about each race looking unique not quite matching up with what we're seeing here. We have two, not one, but two Bosmer screenshots, only, and both display a kind of Elf that is shockingly strange-looking by all accounts pertaining to them in previous games. They resemble a a type of Elf they, according to past experiences, should never resemble. Chimer and Altmer looking similar was never contested because that is how they have always been like since the inception of the Chimer race in the Elder Scrolls universe. Now Bosmer... I don't think anyone expected them to be so revamped that their eye and skin tone are similar to that of a Dunmer's. It would be like seeing an Imperial with green skin.

It's nothing to do with racial stereotypes. If I took myself as an example, I know few people would ever be able to guess my heritage just by looking at me because nobody's ever got that right by just looking at me. That's not a problem, though. That's just the way it is with plenty of those sharing the same heritage, yet the stereotype of what I should look like in the Western world just says otherwise... but I'm not a video game character whose heritage's physical characteristics have been represented many times through past games in a very different way from how they now appear. Bosmer are not real people. They could be made into red dragons if Bethesda wanted, so this "discovery" of grey, red-eyed Bosmer is not some case of a stereotype proven wrong, it's just a complete contrast to what the Bosmer have always been.

We've only seen two screens of the Wood Elves. They're not all going to look like that, so relax people.

And those characters are ripped because... you know, you can set that as well.

I noticed this to. Kind of disappointing to me to (I love playing a Bosmer Archer!) but not game breaking.

Regardless of color, all of the characters still look absolutely fantastic though!

Heck, all the Skyrim races look so good at this point I could see myself playing with them all.............
