Can you guess the game?

Which single player game is roughly twice the size of Great Britain (487,000 square Km) and has more than 15,000 locations?

Now if you've played this game please don't respond with the answer, let people who haven't played it guess. I've only just discovered this myself and am amazed at the scale, I might even give it ago myself.

Spoiler
Daggerfell. Never played it but pretty sure it's the correct answer?

Hmmm I would spoiler mark it if I knew how? Yay worked it out.

Quickly answered. Still can't believe the scale though to put it into perspective Morrowind is 0.01% the size.

I know. I fear a game of that size will never be made again and the reason for it's large size is most of it was randomly generated I believe.

Yes it was.

By my calculations it would take the Bethesda team to handcraft the game like Skyrim over 30,437 years to hand craft a game the size of Daggerfall

Isn't it infinite? The world generator starts glitching after you explored too much, but still.

it is infinite, but a computer can only handle so much of your world. Again, it's randomly generated so eventually you'll run into the same thing again and again.

Daggerfall was the same way, that size ultimately was not that spectacular when most dungeons, caverns etc ultimately fitted into several different molds and that massive over world was literally dead-flat. Most major landmarks were sprites.

As an old school gamer I can remember back when Daggerfall was being released. Every magazine and write-up mentioned this. It's pretty common knowledge to a lot of us old timers, but I can see where people hearing about this for the first time would be a bit shocked. I just recently played through the game and at one point decided to just take a long walk. Wow, after walking for what seemed like forever I couldn't even notice if the dot representing my location had even moved.
