smithable weapons

I know that we can "create" our own weapons by smithing but how deep do they mean by create your own?

1)you start smithing and a unique weapon is created renadomly by the game depending on which ore(s) you use mix, together.
or
2)you start the smithing "mini game" a menu comes up with a list of the ore(s) you have in your inventory and also gives you the ability to mix your ore(s) to create somewhat different weapons that you don't get unless you mix ore's once you've choosen your ore a customization menu comes up given you a randomly generated choice of hilts depending on what ore you use or mix/kind of weapon yor creating possibly giving you a choice of 100's of different hilts and once a hilt is chosen you get a new slider menu allowing you to choose sword size shape colour shape etc.

3)using the controlers thumbstick or mouse you literally get to draw your weapons shape with the game showing you an example of how your weapon will look taiking into consideration what ore(s) you have used.

im looking forward to skyrim so much it soundsdeep with all the options available. job, faction, shouts just everything just hope it doesn't turn out that we have loads of "shallow" choices likemass effect 2 fable etc.

I think there will just be schematics and a set like 80 or so weapons that you can create with like 3 stages of modifcations you can add.

This isn't borderlands where you randomly get an infinite amount of weapons.

2) Ever heard of periods

My mind went all strange there for a moment, before I remembered a "period" is the American term for a full stop. :sadvaultboy:

I expect we'll just have a list of the standard weapons/armour ingame (e.g. "Steel Sword", "Leather Boots") with the list of ingredients required. Depending on your skill level/perks, you will forge a better quality version of the item. Then I reckon you can later upgrade it if your skill leve later increases.

I think it'll be much like how Alchemy works where which ever materials you mix, you'll get a pre-made weapon or what ever.
Thats just what i assume, anyway.

I think it will be set recipes, use X amount of material Y to create weapon/armor Z. It's pretty lackluster, but the only way I can think they can implement it without breaking balance. But they are smarter than me, so who knows.

Not by combining two different types of or, if that's what you're trying to imply sir.
