It makes me legitimately sick to my stomach when I think of what happened to them. It's not just the race, it's Morrowind. Morrowind had more culture than any other province we've seen, in my opinion. It was so foreign and unique. The Dunmer had such character in their architecture, their clothing and armor, their religion, and everything else. There's nothing like them, even if they are jerks. But most of them are gone, along with a a lot of Morrowind.

I neither like or dislike Dark Elves.

Dunmers are my favourite, but they were never a poweful nation. Still a pretty decent force, but i think it was only a matter of time before the inevitable happened. They need a new leader, a new culture, and most importantly.... Their own land back!

That's what I like about them. Their dour, cold ways combined with their devotion make them a fascinating juxtaposition against... themselves. They have some genuinely good individuals, it just seems they like being left alone. They're haughty but in a "go away" sort of way as opposed to the Altmer's "hahaha i am so great".


edit: I can definitely see the Argonians getting some sort of comeuppance. People deride the Dunmer for being backstabbing but the Argonians are the ones who invaded after a cataclysmic event and only won because Morrowind was so weak. There's no honor in that.

Some of the ones in Morrowind were pretty friendly, at least if the two of you had a mutual goal or something. But yeah, if you ever get sent on a quest by a Dunmer NPC I too feel as if he's more likely to betray/trick you somehow than any other race would. It's awesome.

I was a Twin Lamp in Morrowind, the native Dunmer kind of had it coming to them TBQH...

Even though they are my third favorite race, I do indeed dislike them, only because I play an Argonian.
And they've always been like that. They all seemed a lot friendlier than in Morrowind, but that makes sense, due to most not being native-born.

That argonian crap killed both Vedam and Orvas Dren, and both of the ideologies they represent. Also slavery was made illegal before the whole [censored]splosion.

They made me quit Morrowind.
