Was listening to Johnny Cash's cover of Big Iron after hearing it in New Vegas, and the website I was listening to it from had a picture of Johnny Cash from the album cover that made me do a double take. Went to google images to try and found a bigger size of the photo. Take a look:

Alright, so it's Johnny Cash.
Now take a look at the default Courier.

Is it just me, or does Courier Six look a LOT like Johnny Cash in that picture? Giant forehead, very horizontal eyebrows, big nose, reasonable amount of flab in the cheeks....


Now it's got me wondering if the appearance of the Courier was based off of Johnny Cash. Anyone else see it or am I crazy?

I think the female courier was based off of Velma from scooby doo.

Just wondering in the second picture is that the default face for the Courier? If so then I can see somewhat the resemblance, but the eyes are kinda off and the chin is as well.

Yeah that's the default face in game. You can also just load up New Vegas for yourself and look at the default face you get when Doc Mitchell hands you the mirror and take a look at it there; maybe that'd give you a better look at the chin. I personally don't see a big difference between the chins.

And yeah it's not exactly the same. The Courier is blonde and blue eyed, Johnny Cash isn't. The forehead and the eyebrows though? They look SOOOOO similar. The nose and the cheeks are very similar too.
I don't think it's outrageous for the Courier's look to be based on Cash either, considering the whole western theme of New Vegas. Now I'm just super curious if this is pure coincidence or if a designer conciously did this.

I just went to see a video of the first few minutes and it does look like him, but the asian verison actually look more like Cash then the white one does. I think it's a coincidence they would have told who the Courier was modeled after.
