I apologize if this kind of topic has been brought up multiple times, and I'll appreciate it if I can get a link to a topic that is similar but has been answered, if not I could really use some help with this problem I am having with finding the NIF. and TGA. files that I would be using for creating new items and such.

Okay, I've been following a certain http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/tamriel/tutorials/s%20fisher/tesskin1.html, and I've come to the point where it says to search for the files through the "search or find (depending on your version of windows). Then click files and folders." However even though I used the "Hide extensions for known file types" box, the files have yet to appear.

If anyone has a link to a similar topic which has been answered, or to help me with this problem through this topic. I would be very grateful.

EDIT: I forgot to mention I've got the CD that has both Morrowind and the TES construction set, so that may be a bit more helpful to those who can answer this question.

You probably haven't copied the resource files over or extracted your BSAs. You won't be able to find any of the files in windows until you've done that.

If your disc has a Data Files folder with a ton of other files, you need to copy that into your Morrowind install (mind, this can break mods, so should be the first thing done after installation).
If not, you need to find a BSA extractor and extract the three archives. The extractor should have instructions on how to handle that, they vary.

As another alternative, if you have the construction set CD you can browse the data files folder and drag nifs and textures to your desktop or another foder. You can get all the files that way except for Bbloodmoon and Tribunal files which need something like BSA Browser to browse and unpack.
