Will These Mods Work Together?

Post » Wed Aug 17, 2011 3:11 pm

I'm preparing for a new trip to Morrowind, and have just about settled on the mods I'd like to bring along. But I'd like some input & possibly a lot of help too, on load order, conflicts, what to merge & so on. If you're up for it, please have a look at this load order and offer what input you can.

Mind, I'm not exactly expert. I can read a readme (and maybe remember it), use the most basic Mash/Bain functions, click "Just Fix It!" in TESTool, and if pressed, might vaguely remember how to Built My First Hut? in the Construction Set. But that's it.

click "Just Fix It!" in TESTool

Thats, bad. You should never use that feature! It may only harm your mods.

Other than that, I don't see any notable conflicts.

"Just Fix It" has never harmed any of my games that I'm aware of. I do, however, delete the Merged Dialog .esp.

I have no personal experience iwtn FIX it, but I've read, on these forums, that them may damage mods. I think that the word "may" matters much.

I know dialogue & list merging with TESTool isn't recommended, but I thought Just Fix It was considered reasonably safe. Mind, I haven't actually used it yet, but I had planned on it. Do you have any suggestions on what to do instead?

Because I don't see how I can get away with using so many mods, without some kind of conflict resolution. At least, not if I don't want tonnes of glitches & CTDs. And I really don't.

Argh... I think I'll need a week of full time study to make sense of that thing :P

Uhm.. I think I'll Just Fix It for now and see if that works.

Also, if you're the one maintaining the SmartMerger documentation, you might want to put up a different background on the site. Maybe one that doesn't make non-coders like me cry and beg for mercy :o

Heh, it's not mine. But I agree, it's not very Non-coder friendly. It's do-able though.

It's not that complicated. The basic needs and usages can be handled in the GUI. What would you need done?

I really hope nothing. I went with TESTool, and it appears to have done the trick.

But since you're asking, what I really need is six months to conduct an in-depth study of the guts of Morrowind. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who can do that for me :P
