Companions and Partings

I'm on my way through Morrowind for the first time, and I downloaded the very good Julan companion.

His input and story have made going through Caius main quests so far fun, and realistically spread out, and roleplaying the characters as I go through the various quests is interesting.

However, at some point I want the character to leave Morrowind, for Cyrodiil. There is no Julan companion for Oblivon so I need to devise a parting. I was considering perhaps getting Umbra, and giving it to the companion, and somewhere after doing Bloodmoon have had the sword slowly corrupt him until the Nerevarine is forced to kill her 'husband' on Red Mountain. However, I don't know the games story all that well, being that this is the first time gone through it properly.

Thing is, i'm not sure I want him around for the fight against Dagoth Ur, of Almaxia,or such because that would dilute the effect of having the Nerevarine slay them alone. I also want her to have -reason- to leave Morrowind, like grief, to abandon her responsablities as Nerevar Reborn and start a new life in Cyrodiil. At the same time i'm not sure I want to go quite that tragic so early. I'm saving the Argonian-vendetta, axe-crazy, Nerevarine until the decade she spends as a warlord after the MoT falls and the Argonians attack. That will be quite enough tragedy, to find out how badly she failed, of 'suceeded' as the case may be.

I'm torn between having them peacefully deciding to go ther own ways and have him be the start of the Akavir rumor, perhaps with Umbra just add something forboding when she finds it in Oblivion, and having them part tragically in a climactic duel on Red Mountain that sends her fleeing in grief.

These threads don't often seem to get many replies, since they are pretty personal as far as interest goes, but I would really appreciate any other roleplayers help. When I added this companion I wasn't planning on him becoming so interwined with my PC. I've also played too much to want to start again without him.

Have you completed Julan's main quest?

Spoiler
Once his quest is completed, he will have a new responsibility, which could be a good reason for him to stop adventuring. I'd say more, but I don't want to give his story away.

No, I haven't. I'm just aware that ts getting pretty deep at this point, and I peeked into the files in the CS.

Thanks, thats reassuring.

Being honest I don't mind if you do spoil it, infact, please do. I like to plan certain things out a little ahead of time. It'd be nice to know whats coming so I can weave it more comfortably into my experiance. The trip to Red Mountain and going to see his mother came at unwelcome times. Little suprises like that can be fun, spice up the roleplay, but not always.

Turn on your game, and get Julan on the screen:

Spoiler
(with a dramatic voice) "Behold, Han Julan, Chief of the Ahemmusa, and Protector of his people!"
