Furthering the LOD view distance?

Post » Thu Aug 18, 2011 3:39 pm

I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt dissapointed by the view from Dive Rock. I would like to know if there are any mods that can increase the view distance for Oblivion, by which I mean make the point where everything becomes a blue-grey cloud further away. I have looked before and found nothing, but recently in the screen[censored] thread, I found http://f.cl.ly/items/1o2f1x0R1i1L1v1B3F2C/view.jpg, so there has to be some way. Anyone know anything about this?

Trust me, you don't want to do that. Your framerates will skydive faster than The Adoring Fan with an arrow through his head from your perch if you do.

But if you want to try it out, the INI entries are uGridDistantCount and uGridDistanttreeRange. Defaults are 25 and 15, respectively.

Don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

Cool, I pretty much screwed up my game anyway. I'll just reinstall it after I totally screw it up. EDIT: Access denied for editing .ini :/

You need to edit the INI found in documents\My Games\Oblivion. Don't edit the Oblivion_default INI file in the game's install folder.
