Immortal Children

Post » Thu Aug 18, 2011 2:45 pm

Now, I'm not debating that children SHOULD be killed, but ANY npc should be a valid target, otherwise it becomes game breaking. For instance, in Fallout 3, you could "kill" kids in their sleep, gain experience from it, and they would really just be unconscious. In essence, cheating or rather, exploiting the game's mechanics.

On top of that, it breaks the immersion. I mean really, how am I supposed to play a stealthy thief, when a little kid can report any of my movements and I can't even take him/her out? Or even, what if a dragon swallows a town. Are all the kids going to be alive, because kids are immortal in spite of that? Again, it destroys the immersion and believability of a world that boasts a fair amount of realism.

There is already an official topic about children. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1220166-moderator-topic-children-in-skyrim/page__st__160__p__18365481__hl__children__fromsearch__1#entry18365481

As for what you are saying, discussion of children being harmed or killed in anyway is not allowed for discussion on these forums. Sorry, mate.

I know it's so dumb and breaks immersion that you can't kill them

I already did. However, it obviously wasn't enough. I'm not even discussing killing kids. I'm talking about the effects it has on gameplay and mechanics.

[censored] your immersion! Why does everyone here want to kill kids?!?! I'm appalled that bethesda's fanbase seems to be full of child predators!

Sorry, but it is enough. That is why there is a single official topic for the discussion of children.

You are saying it is unfair that you cannot harm children because they can report you for various crimes, and that it is immersion breaking for any NPC to be immortal, including children. Thus, implying you should be able to kill them.
