No Nvidia GPU Optimization

It's pretty sad I felt the need to pay $50.00 for an unplayable beta release. I can see a good game hidden somewhere in between the myriad of glitches and bugs but I just wish Obsidian would get their stuff together and release a quick fix.

I know that fixing a massive bug would be a thing a company like Valve would have remedied immediately (A Valve game would never have these problems in the first place) but asking for any company besides Valve and a handful of others to show some pro-active initiative is asking far, far, too much.

I do have patience and will be waiting for a patch, but I still remain very pessemistic.

I guess I am just trying to deny I just wasted $50.00 of my hard earned money on a lemon.

That's the sad point - when a game has super content, gameplay....but suffers due to bad optimalization or even worse.....bad engine and fps drops - it hurts the gamer the most......

I understand what you're saying. I've decided to shelve this until I see a patch or forum fix that works for the npc conversation fps drop. I haven't even played long enough to find other issues (and my computer is fairly high quality). I still remain, however, optimistic that a fix will be found. It's way too early in the release for Beth to stop work on fixing problems (they still have to make money off the dlc that they'll release) and Beth games have a huge fan base with technical skills.

I wish that companies in general would play test their games more, though. They're using the internet as a crutch, allowing them to release "fixes" after the actual release. So the people who go out and preorder/buy the game early get the short end of the stick, with a game that bugs and hardware issues take from great to mediocre or even unplayable. If this were the time before the net could be used to salvage a game, this sort of release could easily be the death knell of a company.

I wouldn't characterize it as a "gpu optimization" issue, it seems to be that the engine just has tons of bottlenecks. Gamebryo is ancient and the issues are probably less evident on the consoles since their settings will be lower, so the bottlenecks may have been overlooked or flew under the radar. For all we know the issues could be baked into the engine or they could be the result of a single line in the ini that got switched.

The search function is a fantastic invention. We already have two or three threads for this issue.

Which is worth exactly jack and ***, since we have yet to get any kind of response from the publisher or developers.

So people start to spam the forum... is that really so unexpected (or inappropriate, really?)

I think it is nvida driver issues. all 3 of my cards are running cooler than normal, much cooler than normal. makes me think they are hardly being used. Ill wait for nVidia to update their drivers, I just hope it helps.

If the solution is for nvidia to update the drivers I'm gonna be really mad. They haven't updated mine in almost two years.

They came out with a new one for the 200 series the day FONV came out. I was hesitant at first but tried it after i had big drops, then installed it and it diddnt do anything.
