Me and my friend are playing the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3, and we have found absolutely no living protections, but we have found normal amounts of mole rats and radroaches. Just wondering why, not that big of a deal, much easier for us.

All the protectrons are actually dead, on the ground.

Bit of a spoiler:

There's a quest associated with it that brings the protectrons back online. They aren't truly "dead", just deactivated.
