Bizarre Issues

I have the GOTY edition of Morrowind and never had the issues I'm having now. After some minor modding, I decided to try out MGE. It didn't run so well on my computer afterwards and I noticed that the saves I have beforehand had disappeared. I think I uninstalled everything Morrowind-related, but I can't remember, for sure. Anyway, I recently tried to reinstall Morrowind and there's some strange stuff going on. For one thing, two of the mods I once had installed were available in the data file checklist one gets after starting up Morrowind and, in addition, all of my pre-MGE saves were in the list, as well, labeled as, obviously, save files. I've checked and searched everything all over this computer for these files, but I have no idea where they are located on my computer. I can't find these save files and no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall Morrowind (I've tried many times just over the course of these past few hours), all of these files are still in the checklist.

In addition to this, all of my video files seem screwed up... such as the video first listing Bethesda's logo when starting up the game and the introduction video. They run and the sound is fun, but they're all... pixelly and really quite visually screwed up. Before all this, I also had a bunch of problems with the game not even starting up due to, according to two warnings, something about MGE and, in another warning, something about not having any esm or ess files. I can't really explain what I did other than go around and try and find and delete any Morrowind-related files. I'm past that point, but now, no matter how many times I search, I can't find these save files and two mod files and no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall Morrowind, the files remain there and my videos remain screwed up. What could I have possibly done to cause any of this, where are those files hidden, and why are my videos screwed up? I would think completely uninstalling Morrowind would have done something, but it doesn't and I've searched every possible combination of letters and/or numbers I could in plenty of different areas to try and find these saves. They're certainly not under any folders with the word "save" in it.

What OS are you using?

Windows 7

edit: Installing Morrowind in a separate area from the default area results in the save and master file list being empty aside from the Morrowind's actual master files, but the videos are still messed up.
