I'll definitely buy it (got it preordered :D), but there are things that I'm a bit wary of, or outright don't like the sound of at all. But overall I love what they've said about various additions/changes, and I'm hoping that the things I'm not too keen on will be so well executed that they prove my pessimistic ass completely wrong.

Definitely getting it. You can't progress unless you take risks for better or worse.

Every time Bethesda takes a step forwards in innovation a bunch of whiny fans complain that they're selling out. It's beginning to grate on me. Bethesda are the ones creating the games here, they are the experts ... did it not occur to them they might have perfectly valid reasons for removing spellmaking and merging curiass with greaves? No, obviously they're just selling out. Perfect reasoning. What they are doing is indeed making it more accessible, but I don't see why that ought forfeit depth. They've taken a step back in places, but only to move themselves closer to the root of the mechanic so they can expand upon it. If your idea of depth was levelling issues, crappy looking magic and unrealistic movement then fine by me, go play Oblivion, there's nothing you can do about it anyways.

Everything I have heard about Skyrim seems a huge step up to me. I have some qualms with the new enchanting system but I don't think it considerable enough to complain about it at length, or forfeit buying the game. I have it preordered and I can't wait for November.

Well said! I completely agree.

Yes, I'm very happy with the new info, I'm hoping that races have their own armor, E.g Orc=Orcish, Bethesda said Races will have their own armor, but that was a long time ago and they haven't said anything since then.

I'm still largely on the fence and can't make up my mind. I had pre-ordered but then cancelled, it that had nothing to do with the recent releases mentioned though.

I'm a bit on the fence right now... I've bought every TES i could lay my hands on, and, with the exception of Oblivion (the absolutely worst translation i ever seen in my life!), always had fun with the series.

Seeing the graphics this game will be extremely good - only the hair isn't that good (but that can be modded).

The skills so far seem to be fine, but that i will see at the end of the year (a friend already preordered). On the other hand the missing attributes are a problem imo. I've always had fun to tweak there a bit, as i prefer speed and agility over strengh...

But the biggest problem for me is Steam (that crap killed my heavily modded FO!), and i'm less than thrilled to be forced to have to use that again... I got no problem to register my version of the game or a nonintrusive copy protection, but i don't want any additional software on my system to play a game! So far Steam is the only thing that might stop me from buying ths game - and whoever thinks this is a good copyprotection is a fool...

P.S.
Some might think Steam is fine - sorry, but i don't think so!

Are you referring to some specific article or video or interview, because I seem to have missed it?

Some people seem to complain for the sake of complaining. It doesn't amuse me. Discussing what a new feature might mean and anolyzing it, sure, but complaining for the sake of having something to complain about. -sigh-

I'll be getting it, hopefully on release date. Maybe I'm easily entertained but I can look past a few things that I don't like because there is sooo much I do like.

People that say they aren't gonna pick the game up over just one thing changed more than likely will buy it. They could make the game totally linear (which i would hate) but i would still buy the game

I actually keep hearing better and better things and all the new info revealed is great. I am totally getting Skyrim, I decided that even when I first saw the announcement trailer which didn't really show the game.

I don't understand why you would be on a forum for a game you weren't going to buy. I'm not going to buy the next Modern Warfare game, so I'm not on that forum. Is it just to complain about the game? Is that necessary?

because its not a stand alone but a series and they like to track developments that might impact TESVI or Fallout 4 etc which may not be exclusively detected or reported on those sub-boards.

or be scouting for that slither of info that changes their mind

I honestly think that most of the people complaining are either:

1. Concerned fans who don't like the direction of the series and are voicing their thoughts.

2. Fans of another section of the boards that come here to comment when they're bored. I honestly prefer to stick to the FO sections but they're not as active so I migrate to the Skyrim forum.

Either way I think that anyone has the right to either express their love or critiques for the game. You can't just say, if you don't like the direction of the series GTFO because your opinion doesn't count.

Because BGS won't listen to complaints in this game are made silently or on other forums? We complained wildly about certain things, some of which have already been (somewhat - if enough remains to be seen) addressed. Even if some of the things we complain about doesn't make it to release day, they might setup the needed data structures to support such ideas in the future, like making things easier for modders or plan some DLC strategies.

Who is this "we?" It's not Bethesda's job to cater to the vocal minority that posts over and over about things they personally don't like. It's Bethesda's job to make the game they think most people will like.

Bethesda actually listens more than I'd expect.

I'm getting the game asap. I have really liked most of the news so far and there is only 2 or 3 things that I mildly dislike, at least not anywhere near enough to not like the series anymore.

Id wager that someone who has decided to NOT get the game based on the new info we have been given isn't that much of a fan......
But that's just my humble opinion.

I'm happy with the new information and will definitely buy the game (pre-ordered CE). TES series is one of the most iconic in the RPG genre and staple of my gaming collection.

I have been planning on gettig Skyrim ever since it was announced. The new information in most instances only enhances myi desire for the game.

The only issue that was close to being a dealbreaker, was Bethesda's choice of Steam as the DRM. ( :flame: )

(I have had trouble in the past)

I am still going to get it, however, unless Steam somehow stops me.

I love everything. EXCEPT, the bosmer, because they are very very very BLACK for they're race. (No racist, my characters in Brink, Saints row 2, and skate 3 are dark skinned)
