Need help on game crash

Post » Sat Aug 20, 2011 5:57 pm

My game crashes when DX11 and Hi-Res textures are enabled. It used to run fine before the 1.9 patch and DX11. I need help figuring out whats wrong! I am using ultra settings on everything and I have the latest 280.26 drivers and before you say my rig can't handle it, here are my specs:

Core i7 950 @ 3.8ghz with Corsair V6-GT cooling unit
G-Skill 12gig ram 6-7-6-24
Asus P6X58D Premium Motherboard
1000W PSU
1TB HDD @ 10000RPM
Nvidia 580GTX 3Gig core clock 850mhz, Shader clock 1700mhz and memory clock 2000 mhz
Coolermaster HAF-X case

My temps are stable.. CPU stays around 40-45C on max load and Graphics card temps never go above 52C on max load. The clocks are stable as well. I do not understand why the game crashes. I believe this set-up should be able to handle Crysis 2 DX11 on Ultra with ease. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

Does it crash when you lower your graphics? And when does it crash?

crysis 2 as far as i know is known to crash on many different pc hardware from the low to the high i know someone who it crashes on after every map load and they have near the best possible hardware but for me it crashes randomly and rarely even thoough im just slightly in the good hardware spot no matter if i put it all on max or all on low or mix of the settings

Boost your GPU volts by 0.05 and it should be fine, use MSI AfterBurner for this.

Yes it crashes at any setting right when i start campaign. It crashes as soon as the game loads.

Okay thanks for the suggestion. I'll do what you said and post what happens

darkprincelod, I'm away right now to join in some MP fun, listen it could be a RAM problem, it does things like that if it's not set right.
My native timings are 7 8 7 24, but it doesn't work with my OC so i got 7 8 8 24, for those timings of yours i'd say your RAM is @ 1333MHz, but either way try it @ 7 7 7 24, even 8 7 7 24 just to make sure this ain't the cause.

My ram is running at 1600mhz but I'll look into it and do as you say. Lets hope it solves my problem lol
