dx11 issue with GeForce GTS 250

Post » Sat Aug 20, 2011 3:22 am

Hi,

I've downloaded the dx11 patch and the dx11 option within the game is still grayed out. I've installed the latest Nvidia drivers and still no luck. Dxdiag shows that the installed DirectX version is "DirectX 11".

Specs:

Card: Nvidia GeForce GTS 250
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Memory: 2GB
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual CPU @ 1.8 GHz

Thanks in advance.

the GTS 250 and entire GTX 200 series are only DirectX 10, you need an Nvidia 400/500 series card or an AMD 5000/6000 series card to have
DirectX 11

Windows 7 will show dx11 on all cards because the API is backward compatible. Now before you get your hopes up what I mean by backward compatible is the dx11 API will cater for both DX9 and DX10 cards as it basically has DX9 and 10 built in, but to use full DX11 you still need a DX11 card otherwise what you're essentially running is DX9/10 in the windows 7 environment.
