Can I Run Almighty Crysis 2?

Post » Sat Aug 20, 2011 9:52 am

Im looking at buying a new gaming laptop and was a bit confused on how it would work out playing games, especially as a laptop. So i thought as people play it here on pc's maybe you could tell me wether id be playing horribly at 10fps or cruising at 60! (i dont think thats happening lol).

so what the specs im looking at is this.

i7 2630QM 2.0ghz (turbo 2.9)
6GB 1333mhz DDR3 RAM
nvidia geforce 560M 1.5GB
640GB hard drive (raid 0 so apparently faster)

id want to play crysis 2 maxed out, and id hope for 40fps, but i have a feeling it wont be that much... anyone have an idea of what i would get? and would getting an ati 6990M 2GB instead improve the fps much?

You would probably get about 20fps on maxed out ultra settings. Try running the Heaven benchmark on default settings DX11/1920x1080 and see what FPS and score you get

Laptops are gettin' more powerful, with that one which sounds like a gamin' one if you were to keep it cool with one of those laptop cooler thingys i'd say you may get more frames per sec than Wrath suggests, i mean there will be settings that you probably don't like that much and won't max them out.
I got only three settings at Ultra, no motion blur, lowest shading, and lowest post processing.
To tell you the truth my CPU is bottleneckin' me right now(at least with Crysis 2), the one on that laptop sounds sweet (2.9 is a good speed), i think it sounds quite cool. :)
