Playing a Healer or a Priest

So I want to trust the Divines and go around healing townsfolk and preaching good faith.

But playing to play as a pacifist, everyone is just saying "get high sneak and illusion and just avoid everything". I don't want to avoid combat, I want to charge head on! But without killing anyone!

I've already seen the 'Ward of Protection' spell to make the undead run away. Good spell. Divine-themed sanctuary spells are always great. But I want more powers to kill the undead. Will my healing powers (the power to restore life) be able to banish or burn them (destroy the dead)? I don't want to grab destruction spells - fire and lightning, ice... boring -, I want to call down divine light to smite them all! But will the divines even offer us these powers to worshippers. Is a priest archetype viable, or will I need other schools.

Like in Stone Soup, enemies could be converted into friends through healing magic. I want something similar, or at least a decent way of pacifying them - something like a 'Calm Other' spell.

If the will is present, the archetype is definitely viable.... You'll just have to work on it :foodndrink:. But, as for what kinds of spells that will be present, we can only wait and find out... Oh, and don't forget the Thu'um .

Calm spells are your best bet. Just hope there's a Calm Dragon spell!

Calming Spells are around, but there is no permanent one as far as i know. But if u feel like calming the entire dungeon then running to the nearest door then be my guest :)

No reason not to when it's some generic bandit NPC. All I do is cast Heal Other until I've healed them to effectively 200% HP, and then they are calmed forever as my friend. 'Cause the other option is killing them to 0% HP. Either way the NPC becomes useless except I don't get any loot. Maybe the NPC can become a permanent follower!

just add some effects to a weapon and name it somethings divine sounding. and just pretend its a sword with super cool divine powers not lightning or absord health effects.

Wouldn't killing the undead classify as killing? Does anyone think there will be an unconsious system like in FO? If so you can be a pacifist without killing anything.
