How do I activate the jukebox/toaster/light switch etc?

Actually, Tallest, you just activate the appliance you got the chip for.
There are quests you need to do to find them. They're scattered around Big MT and once you get them, just activate the appliance you got the chip for. So, if you got the Toaster's personality chip, you're not going to be able to use it on the Jukebox, go and activate the Toaster. It will then have a pop up message saying you activated it. The same goes for appliance upgrades. If you get a frequency upgrade for the Jukebox, it will say it when you activate it.

You need find all 9 holotapes(install personalities) in Big MT areas. Without them, you can't upgrade in The Sink.

Install them via the CIU. THe locations of the holotapes are revealed in the quests "All My Friends Have Off Switches" and "Field Research".
