Idea for a DLC (Simulation DLC)

Post » Mon Aug 22, 2011 4:45 am

I have an idea for a DLC, it can be a simulation you go into (Operation Anchorage Simulator You sit in) and it is a "Before The War" that or something like, "Going Into The War". It may sound stupid, but there are people that MAY like that (Me) but if it sounds like Bethesda could make something like that but its a thought.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Bethesda developing it, but you can always make it into a mod. Nice idea, and welcome to the forums. :tops:

I wouldn't mind it, but what would the point of it be? And by point I mean plot, what would you do? Take on the role of a bread winner just before the war? Don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying your idea is bad, as I would like to see the world of Fallout before it became... well, Fallout. I'm just saying I don't see the point of it other than to say "Here you go, this is what life was before the war."

I think another simulation DLC would be pretty cool (especially if you could return whenever you felt like it) and if it was another combat, i think trenches would be awsome, or a pre-war america i'd buy it. I dont know if bethesda will do another heavy combat sim though since it would basically be a repeat of op. anch :cryvaultboy: but they could possibly do something else with simulations in future fallouts

I'd also like a pre-war DLC.

However instead of a simulation I'd prefer some along the lines of time-travel...
For instance we are sent back through time by mad scientists to prevent the great war or perhaps to deliver a vital piece of information somewhere.

However paradoxically it turns out our actions/inactions are what had triggered the war in the first place..
(Yes I'm aware it would be like the terminator paradox. Time travel is always insanely silly and mind-numbing anyways but it can still be fun)

Oh hell no, not only does time travel not have any place in the Fallout universe, but if Bethesda/Obsidian either one tried to make it out like the player character caused the great war, I'm sorry I just don't think I could ever touch another Fallout game again.

You're aware of course that time travel has already been in the FO universe?

If you like that try the D.E.I.M.O.S. mod. Decent plot that involves time travel and stuff.

Actually no, I never ran across that in playing Fallout 2. But then again Fallout 2 had a lot of weird stuff like that that didn't fit in with the universe.

How about a DLC that Targets your speech barter and science options? You have to relive a prewar event in order to find the password to a secret vault which is full of civilians and amazing prewar tech. Instead of combat however you want to lean away from it as its an espionage simulation. You would role play a US soldier who is under cover in a corporate office believed to be the nerve center of a Chinese spy intelligence leaking ring. It would be preferred to talk your way out of problems and sneak into security rooms, however if you are caught the doors to the room become locked and you must kill all spy personnel in order to retrieve a key and escape that said floor, the building should be at least 10 floors and when you finally retrieve the password you must escape via roof tops in order to get back to the ground. Once you exit the area the simulation gives you 2 options, one is to let the captives go and share the cache the other is to execute the captives and destroy the simulator in order to keep the cache to yourself and not share it with the civilians in the vault.

Well what do you think?

The only person that can say what cant and can fit in the fallout universe is the developers, so if you dont like it svcks for you buddy but thats neither here nor there, the point is, who are you to say what can or cant be part of the fallout universe?
