Character Save guide (for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim). : The Elder Scrolls Series Discussion

In response to http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1219594-saved-game-management/ I made a guide.
I thought it should have a thread of it's own to make it more accessible.

make a folder titled "characters"
in this folder make a folder for your current character
move the save folder to this folder
replace save folder with empty save folder (at the location where the the save folder was originally located)
Done!

Repeat steps 2 through 4 for any new characters!

For Morrowind the save folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Saves
For Oblivion the save folder is C:\Users\owner\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves
For Skyrim, I don't know but I bet it will be in a similar place to Oblivion's
Assuming your using vista or later.

If you did all this, how to go back to older characters should be obvious.

Nice of you to post a guide for save management but there is an easier way. Make a Character folder with your characters folders in them in your documents directory. Then copy and paste the saves you want to your character folder.
