Bethesda and Obsidian should both make an expansion for the

Well only if they brought that one guy back in, if it was the whole studio then I would feel pretty uneasy :s

As far as I know, Ken Rolston and Mark Nelson are the only former Bethesda employees who are currently working for Big Huge Games developing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Both of them alongside Todd McFarlane were the cause of my initial interest in the game. A few devchat demos later and I am ridiculously excited for it.

The thing is, Obsidian has no idea how to make a TES game. If they made FO:NV on their own, it would bear absolutely no resemblance to FO:3. They just take their cues from Bethesda.

I don't want an isometric, non-real time Fallout 1-esque TES. I sure as hell don't want an Alpha Protocol TES.

Imagine if J.R.R Tolkien died before finishing Return of the King. And then J.K. Rowling wrote it.

Hahahaha whut? Do you know who Obsidians are? The games they've developed back when they where Black Isle?

And no, I don't want a TES Battlespire or Redguard either.

Obsidian has made a lot of sequels, all of which have been quite faithful to the original concept. I don't see how they'd screw over TES on the matter if not asked to. And on the case of Fallout, that's exactly what they should've done -- strayed further from Fallout 3.

You have a point. Well... as long as they don't get Bioware to do it.

Maybe it's just because, aside from the fact that a few of them are unfinished/buggy, I find almost all of their games based off other IPs to be great. If they get to time to fix bugs and get creative with it, I think they could do something wonderful.

New Vegas was so overrated and Obsidian makes buggy games and that's pretty sad that even whilst using engines that they did not create.

Elder Scrolls is a far too premium series for anyone but Bethesda to touch.

New Vegas is the best rpg in years and many a parsec ahead of BGS's efforts. It would be a blessing if Obsidian contributed to the franchise.

I don't know why do people bash the new character system that they are implementing for Skyrim? I don't get it.
I think I'm starting to get the idea that people have different opinions on things though.

Because they can't accept that Obs actually made a better FO than BGS ever could.

Uhm...Weapon Mods. Ammo Types. New Weapons. Some cool companions. Very nice DLC. That was cool.

The convoluted, emotionally dead story with competing factions that tried to do shades of grey. The pretty lame vanilla locations and world. That svcked.

Obsidian barely changed a thing. I enjoyed playing NV, but it was not a developer's gift to gaming. I preferred FO:3.

Maybe if Obsidian made their own game, instead of adding some cool features and a bland story.

What you say is debatable but the fact is, Obsidian is rather well known for releasing broken, unfinished games. While BGS games usually have quite a few bugs present, they don't often have the potential to break quests or entire questlines and if they do they are usually fixed fairly quickly, the same cannot be said of Obsidian unfortunately.
