Maybe the cage used to be an equipment storage and raiders dont exactly have the concept of morality on their minds......and i know there are cannibalistic raiders at the bethesda ruins so...... :sadvaultboy:

Or it might have been part of the pre-war tensions. Children who were of chinese descent were locked in the jail cell while the rest of the kids went to little lamplight.

Are they actually children's skeletons? I don't recall them being little kids skeletons, but then again I've never paid much attention to them.

If they are, then I'd imagine they are raider victims. Nothing to do with anything pre-war. Raiders are just sick bastards.

that would make sense, but i think the children where locked in the cell when the great war happened and where killed then or killed eachother because they couldnt get out. its just weird because when i was little i went to a school in DC very much like this one, i wouldnt say i was a model student but i never got locked in a cell (at school anyway) haha

The entire place looked like a statement against public school.

Then I'd say they are just raider victims. Since we are given no indication of torture being performed on the children pre-war.

Not sure how you came up with that idea.

Its more like a statement against post-nuclear torture gangs occupying the ruins of a former school if anything.

President Eden all the way.

Although I'd prefer if they both just got along. Preferably with Autumn abandoning his plan.

Most likely added the cells after the fact by the raiders as someplace to hold the odd passers by. Brings a whole new meaning to after school detention. But the concept of the Springvale school as a learning institution works because its the first place the LW learns about who the raiders are and what they do first hand.

I figure the Raiders added the Cells. Regarding the skeletons, I figure that's just the result of the Raiders having "fun".

I wouldn't be surprised if Springvale School was taken over by marauding gangs of hungry folks soon after the war. Schools and churches are the first places people go during disasters, and so it usually means there's something worth finding there. Some folks raided the place, killed teachers and parents and locked the kids up in cells and let them die there while moving on. And that, my friends, is my theory.

Well, it makes sense. Schools and churches are centers of the community. And as you say, they are some of the first places people go for help and info during a disaster. The red-cross uses them for relief bases. Oh bloody hell! Could it be that the Red-cross became the raiders after 200 years of social evaluation?

Doubtful. The raiders haven't been there that long. The terminal of the raider "leader" says they had just come there to do some raiding and are attempting to tunnel into Vault 101.

Yeah, the particular group of Raiders who are there in the game haven't been there too long, judging by the in-game backstory. Springvale had likely been used for centuries as an impromptu raiding base by many different folks, even after Megaton's wall was finally constructed.
